Alicia Bradford, director of the Wayne County Parks, and her husband Larry Bradford face charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm in connection with a fight Jan. 1 fight at a Farmington Hills gas station.
She's been suspended without pay, according to WXYZ.
The incident began shortly after midnight on New Years day when Larry Bradford, 72, was purchasing a can of Mt. Dew, WXYZ reports.
He questioned the store clerk who was charging an extra 10 cents for what turned out to be for the deposit.
A customer in line behind him started to explain to Bradford, who told him to mind his own business. The two got into a fight and Bradford repeatedly hit the man with his can of Mt. Dew.
Bradford left the store and returned with a 9 mm gun and demanded the man get on his knees and apologize. The man apologized.
Alicia Bradford then entered the store with a gun and pointed it at the man and insisted: "You going to stay down there."
