The FBI has arrested two men who made last minute election threats in Michigan.
Federal authorites on Tuesday unsealed charges against the men including Isaac Sissel, 25, a transient, who authorities said was a proponent of killing Trump and made threats against him. His online social media handles on Reddit included "ShootUpTrumpRally," "/WillShootTrumpSoon," "PlanningToShootTrump," and "PlanningToKillTrump."
The other man, Christopher Pierce, 46, of Jackson, was charged with sending two threatening emails on Oct. 2 to a political action committee (PAC) engaged in fundraising activities related to the November 5 election. The PAC was not identified in court documents.
In Sissel's case, authorities said Reddit reported his online activity on Sept. 23. The FBI tracked the accounts to Sissel and the Internet from the University of Michigan.
On Saturday, the FBI National Threat Operations Center in West Virginia received an anonymous threat to shoot conservatives that was traced to Sissel:
“I shall carry out an attack against conservative christian filth in the event trump wins the election. I have a stolen ar15 and a target I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans.Without a specific victim or ability to find the place I hid the gun, there's not a think the FBI can do until I complete the attack."
On Monday, law enforcement tracked Sissel to his room at the Travelodge in Canton.
Sissel stated that Trump was a threat, a "piece of shit" that should have been assassinated, and that everything would be better if he were dead.
He went on to say he wouldn't kill Trump but said he would not intervene if he knew someone who planned to.
Sissel said he also often slept near a rehab clinic in Ann Arbor and was angry at the people who went there who he identified as "Christian."
In Pierce's case, he is accused of sending two emails to the PAC, one of which said:
“Every day, your people contact me with a campaign ad and it’s calling me racist. You motherfuckers contact meagain [sic] I guarantee I can find each and every one of your fucking organizees.
"I’m a member of that American patriotfucking three bitch. And we \will turn you motherfuckers inside out. I’ve already managed to locate one of your callcenters [sic].. you will shut this shit down or we will shut it down for you permanently. This year proves Kamala Harrisis
[sic] nothing but a fucking communist piece of fucking shit and doesn’t deserve to fucking even be in the race tobecome [sic] president. Now you better stop or I promise you this is badly for all of you motherfuckers and we won’tinvolve [sic] the law motherfucker..American patriot three are current and former US military and current and formerlaw-enforcement [sic].”
The second email said:
"You will shut down your entire organization or it will be shut down for you. 90% of the members of Americanpatriot three are trained killers. Trained by uncle Sam. And they will go to work if you do not close up shopbecause [sic] obviously you cannot cont4rol the fucking retard that you allowed to use your platform. It paints targets onyour [sic] backs and the backs of your families. Your call centers have been located. Don’t make these boys and girlsgo [sic] to work.”
