Former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers, who is running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, had been criticized for being a registered voter in Florida.
The Michigan Advance reported earlier this month that more than nine months after registering to vote in Michigan, Florida election officials say they've finally removed Rogers from their voting rolls. Rogers is considered the front-runner in the Aug. 6 Republican primary.
Rogers, a former FBI agent who served in Congress from 2001 to 2015, eventually bought a home in Cape Coral, Fla. valued at $1.7 million and registered to vote in Florida. He still owns the home.
Rogers' campaign tells the Michigan Advance that Rogers is living at his sister-in-law’s home in Genoa Township, near Brighton while a new home is built in White Lake Township where he and his wife, Kristi, purchased property for $295,000 last July.
Rogers and Donald Trump have endorsed one another.
