Update: 9:35 p.m. Wednesday -- The suspect in the stabbing of fellow inmate Larry Nassar stabbed the former sports doctor after he made a lewd comments while watching the Wimbledon tennis tournament on TV, the Associated Press reports, citing an unnamed source.
Specifically, the inmate attacked Nassar after he allegedly made a comment about wanting to see girls play in the Wimbledon women’s match, the source said. The incident happened Sunday in a Central Florida federal prison.
The suspected inmate, identified as Shane McMillan, 49, has a history of violent convictions.
McMillan stabbed Nassar multiple times in his cell. Four inmates pulled him off Nassar, AP reports.
He is in stable condition.

Disgraced Michigan State University sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed Sunday afternoon nearly a dozen times in a Florida federal prison during an altercation, NBC News reports. A union official for the corrections officers said he was in stable condition.
Joe Rojas, president of Local 506, which represents employees at the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman in Central Florida, said Nassar, 59, was stabbed twice in the neck, twice in the back and six times in the chest, and also suffered a collapsed lung in the attack, NBC reports.
"No staff or other inmates were injured and at no time was the public in danger. An internal investigation is ongoing," a prison officials said.
Nassar was a sports doctor for MSU and the U.S. women's national gymnastics team. He was accused of sexually assaulting hundreds of girls and young women during examinations. He is currently serving a 60-year federal prison sentence, and was also sentenced in state courts in Michigan to what amounts to life sentences.
